“Energy and Persistence Conquer All Things”-Benjamin Franklin
Years ago, I represented a lady on the Florida West Coast. During the course of my representation, I needed to obtain a document to help her. I requested it repeatedly – over and over. I was committed to getting her the help she needed. I got the document.
Eight years later, I got a call from that same West Coast town. The number was from the Ft. Meyers area, and I asked, “You know I am in Miami, right? Why are you calling me from so far away to take your case?” This person said, “Years ago, you needed a document and you wouldn’t let up until you got it. After seeing how persistent you were, I told myself if I ever needed a lawyer I wanted you.” Eight years later.
My name is Shannon del Prado, and I am running for Village Council Seat #3. We need persistence in our local government. It reminds me of Chapman Field, now unkempt and overgrown, unlike when our college-aged son used to play baseball there. We need to find solutions for these quality of life issues through our local government. The Village government has a role to play here. Pinecrest must work hand in hand with residents and pressure the County for proper clean up and restoration. Ethan Shapiro has taken extraordinary initiative spearheading the effort to clean up Chapman Field. We need creative, constructive solutions. I am proud to have served with Ethan on the Zoning Board and it is my hope to work with him again!
I was raised to not back down from a challenge, and to not let obstacles or inconveniences get in the way. Years from now, when we look back on the challenges of this moment, what stories will our kids tell about how we stepped up for our Community? With each of you, I want to do my part for Pinecrest.
Committed to our Community,
Shannon del Prado
