Pinecrest Community Center offers the YMCA “Y Learning Lab”

The start of this school year brings new challenges. My husband and I are raising our three kids as well.  Two remain in Pinecrest schools.  One is off to college.  Since none of us have lived through a pandemic before, we are all learning to adapt and pull  together.  As we must.

The Village offers help here.  Pinecrest Parks and Recreation Department, under Director Robert Mattes’ leadership, offers opportunities for our young people to attend school virtually, to be engaged, to foster positive social bonds, and to grow.  One critical program offered at our own Pinecrest Community Center is the YMCA “Y Learning Lab.” Parks and Rec has partnered with the YMCA to offer a school-time program designed to meet the virtual requirements for the students, while providing a safe, reliable atmosphere where parents know their children are cared for.

This program is great for parents who want their children to have a productive, fun and structured place for their online schooling.  And parents can work knowing their children’s education is progressing in a supervised environment.  Here is the information:

YMCA “Y LEARNING LAB” – Ages 5 to 12
Pinecrest Community Center
Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. | August 31, 2020 – December 18, 2020

My husband and I chose to set our life up here because of the strength of our Community.  I support the Y Learning Lab and a nimble government that is focused on serving you.  In this moment, we need to look out for all our residents, from our youngest to our most senior.

Committed to our community,

Shannon del Prado
